Like a lot of people, I love TV shows about food, and especially about cupcakes! I love Cupcake Wars and DC Cupcakes (also known as Georgetown Cupcakes). One episode of Cupcake Wars featured another bakery called Sprinkles. (Fun fact – Sprinkles also sticks in my mind as creating a “Cupcake ATM“, which is essentially a vending machine for cupcakes, but still awesome.)
When I was in DC with my mom and Rachel, I looked it up and Georgetown Cupcakes and Sprinkles Cupcakes were on the same street, just a 35 minute walk from Rachel’s hotel! Since they’re typically willing to accommodate a crazy scheme, I convinced them to take a walk to sample both.
At Sprinkles, we ordered a salted caramel cupcake. We planned to get Georgetown next and eat all the cupcakes at home, but the line for Georgetown Cupcakes was huge! So, we did the logical thing and ate the Sprinkles cupcake in the Georgetown Cupcakes line.
At Georgetown we ordered a chocolate chip brownie cupcake and a vanilla birthday cake cupcake. Hands down the Georgetown cupcakes were better! The chocolate chip brownie was amazing!
